KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A month before former Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt shoved and kicked a woman in an incident that came to light Friday on video, a man accused Hunt of being among a group who attacked him at a Kansas City nightclub.
According to a police report, the accuser, was at Mosaic nightclub around 2 a.m. on Jan. 7 — just hours after the Chiefs’ playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans — when he saw a friend of his being shoved by a group of three men, which included former Chiefs running back George Atkinson and Hunt.
Police said the man, who was 37 at the time of the incident, confronted Atkinson and got punched in the shoulder. The man said he responded by punching Atkinson in the face before he was “jumped” by a group of six to eight suspects that included Hunt, with a majority of the blows being kicks.

BACK TO SLIDE
The accuser — who admitted to being intoxicated at the time of the event in the report — said he was unconscious for a short time, and recalled being escorted from the establishment afterward. He said he went to the hospital emergency room about 20 hours later with a broken rib, broken nose and multiple bruises and contusions.
Police weren’t called to the scene, and the accuser said he decided to file a report on the incident four days after it happened only because his family told him he should.
A message seeking comment from Hunt wasn’t immediately returned.
A police spokesman said the accuser stopped cooperating after he filed the report, and that he declined to file charges.
“Yeah, since it’s not a domestic violence case, there’s no mandatory prosecution,” KCPD Sgt. Jacob Becchina told Yahoo Sports. “With a nightclub scuffle, it happens all the time and we get called to them all the time and a lot of times, people don’t press charges.”
