Trump mocks 'Little Michael' Bloomberg, other potential 2020 challengers

President Donald Trump mocked “Little Michael” Bloomberg in an Oval Office interview about his potential 2020 challengers.

While speaking to the New York Post, Trump had a lot to say about billionaire Michael Bloomberg, who may potentially run for President in 2020, “I’d love to run against Little Michael. I would love to run against him. He’s been fighting me hard. He spent $100 million against me – that didn’t work. He spent a lot of money last night against Cindy Hyde-Smith. That didn’t work out so well.”

Trump’s referring to Bloomberg’s Independence USA PAC, that spent over $100 million to support Democratic candidates during the 2018 midterm elections.

Trump also had some interesting words for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand saying, “She’d be up in Trump Tower not asking, a stronger word than asking, for campaign contributions. I know her very well. I supported her early on. She’s not going to make it.”

As for Senator Cory Booker, Trump said, "He ran Newark into the ground and he decided not to live there, which was illegal. So I’m sure they’ll look into that situation. No, he’s not going to be a problem.”

However, Trump did have some kind words for Governor Andrew Cuomo, telling the Post, “I have a good relationship with him. I like him. He likes me.”

Members of the crowded field of potential 2020 Democratic contenders are expected to begin formally announcing their candidacies in early 2019.
