Florida teen rescued after spending hours trapped inside abandoned bank vault

Two Florida teens snuck into an abandoned Bank of America Wednesday. Only one walked out without issue.

An unidentified 17-year-old boy got trapped inside a vault in the Hollywood bank Wednesday and his friend had to call in firefighters to get him out.

Hollywood Fire Rescue tried to cut through the two-foot thick walls of the 14x14 foot fault, but were unsuccessful, according to NBC Miami. Eventually, authorities were able to get in touch with the vault manufacturer, who sent employees to figure out the combination.

The teen was trapped for about four hours before breaking free around 6 p.m.

It’s still unclear how exactly the boy got inside the vault.
