Florida man allegedly raped teenager with Grand Theft Auto mic still on

A Florida gamer allegedly took a break from playing Grand Theft Auto to rape a teenager, according to police.

Daniel Enrique Fabian, 18, was arrested late last week and accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in late June.

Fabian was playing Grand Theft Auto online and chatting with another teenager when he said he was taking a break to “smash,” the witness who was playing against him told officials, according to the police report acquired by the Daily News.

Police said Fabian stopped playing for about 15 minutes, but left the microphone on. The witness told officials that he could hear the girl crying and saying “no.”

The unidentified victim told police that Fabian covered her mouth with his hand, pushed her onto his bed and raped her, despite four attempts to stop him.

After the alleged rape, Fabian went back to his game.

The investigation took about five months as police tried to link DNA evidence from the girl’s rape test to a suspect.

It’s unclear how police connected with the witness who allegedly heard the assault.

Fabian was charged with lewd and lascivious battery of a person between the ages of 12 and 15. He is being held without bail.

According to online records, Fabian was also arrested in early June, a few weeks before the video game assault, and also charged with lewd and lascivious battery of a person between the ages of 12 and 15. He had been released on bail.
