NBA Twitter explodes as Jimmy Butler heads to Philadelphia

While basketball analysts were trying to get their brains wrapped around the blockbuster trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers, NBA Twitter was well on it’s way to ripping the Minnesota Timberwolves for it’s asking price and mocking the Sixers for the drama they just brought on themselves.

The full deal — which is scheduled to be filed with the league on Monday — sends Butler and Justin Patton to Philadelphia for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jarryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round draft pick.

In the end, Twitter wasted no time reminding everyone that the Sixers might have won the trade, but it’s still the Golden State Warriors’ world.
