'Fox & Friends' slams Oprah for promoting 'far left's socialist agenda' (Video)

“Fox & Friends” swung into action Friday after Oprah Winfrey’s strong embrace of Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams, with one guest warning viewers that the daytime queen was being used to as a left-wing prop to promote Socialism.

“I don’t think that her platform will help,” said GOP strategist Jenna Ellis. “Oprah really represents the far left’s socialist agenda and that’s not going to resonate in the mid-terms with the American family that cares about money in their pockets, cares about the economy, cares about the things that President Trump has done in terms of putting America first.”

Ellis said that Georgia voters would be much more inclined to embrace hard right religious figures James Dobson and Franklin Graham who would promote traditional “family values.”

“That’s going to be what resonates rather than this far-left socialist agenda,” she said. “That far leftist message … all of the free things Oprah gave out. That’s not really practical from a political standpoint.”

On Thursday, the famously non-partisan talkshow host flew to Georgia in what she said was her own personal decision to endorse Abrams for governor of the state. Abrams — like many other national Democrats is currently locked in a nail-biter contest with her Republican challenger Brian Kemp.

“I’m here today because of the men and because of the women who were lynched, who were humiliated, who were discriminated against, who were suppressed, who were repressed and oppressed, for the right, for the equality at the polls,” Oprah told a fired-up audience in Marietta Thursday. “And I want you to know that their blood has seeped into my DNA and I refuse to let their sacrifices be in vain.”

Oprah, who took pains to also note that she had voted for Democrats and Republicans in the past, also plans to go door to door with Abrams in the campaign’s final stretch.

The analysis from Ellis on “Fox & Friends”, was a distinctly minority opinion — even on Fox News. On Thursday as Oprah hit the stump, hosts on Fox News’ “Outnumbered” gushed.

“Oprah Winfrey has a spiritual connection with so much of this country, and it was built over years and years of doing that talk show,” said co-host Dagen McDowell. “I said, when we were watching it, I said ‘If that women can get folks to eat pizza with a cauliflower crust on it, she is going to get that woman elected.'”
