Boston fans gather near Fenway Park to celebrate Red Sox World Series win

The Boston Red Sox clinched the World Series in Los Angeles, but that hasn’t prevented a party from breaking out in Boston.

Shortly after the Red Sox secured Game 5 Sunday with a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, fans took to the streets.

Fans gather near Fenway

Where did they gather? Near Fenway Park, of course. Fans swarmed Kenmore Square to revel in the Red Sox’ fourth World Series win since 2004.

Queen was on the playlist.

As were The White Stripes.

Here’s an aerial view of the festivities taking shape.

And a shot from the street of revelers running to the party.

Unlike Philadelphia, whose Super Bowl celebration got a bit out of hand, Boston has done this several times. Police knew the drill and made their presence known before the party got going.

But things looked a little more chaotic a little more than an hour later.

But so far, the celebrations appear relatively safe and respectful. Hopefully for everyone involved, Boston continues to act like its been here before.
