Todd Gurley has outscored Bills through 7 weeks

Todd Gurley is really good.

The Buffalo Bills are really bad.

Perhaps nothing sums up that dichotomy better than this statistic realized by Los Angeles Rams reporter Sarina Morales.

Todd Gurley has more points than the Buffalo Bills

Through seven games, Gurley has scored more points than the entire Bills team.

Gurley added three touchdowns to his tally on Sunday in the Rams’ 39-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He scored two on the ground and one in the air.

That brings his touchdown total to 14, for a total of 84 points. Two two-point conversions bring his scoring tally to 88 on the season.

No, the Bills haven’t had a bye

The Bills have scored 81 points. As a team. That includes offense, defense and special teams. They added to their tally with a whopping five points on Sunday in a 37-5 loss to a bad Indianapolis Colts team that improved to 2-5 with the win.

There’s no misleading math here. The Bills have not had a bye. Both the Rams and Bills have played a full slate of seven games. Gurley is simply doing things that haven’t been done before.

Gurley on pace for Tomlinson’s TD record

LaDainian Tomlinson set the record for total touchdowns from scrimmage in 2006 with 31 for the San Diego Chargers. With two a game, Gurley is on pace to finish with 32. There’s nothing to indicate Gurley or the Rams offense will slow down.

With the Rams at 7-0, a potential Week 17 rest day appears to be the biggest threat to Gurley’s scoring pace.

Gurley not far behind Cardinals

In the meantime, he and the Bills are in a heated race.

And, in case you were wondering, he’s not far behind the Cardinals.

Arizona, the league’s second-most inept offense, has scored 91 points through seven games.
