Freak accident kills 20-year-old at fast food drive-thru

A man in Missouri was killed in a freak accident while trying to reach for his food at a Jack in the Box drive-thru.

Police told St. Louis Post-Dispatch that 20-year-old Charles Wood Jr. pulled up to the drive thru at an angle around 10pm. They say he needed to open his car door and lean out to grab his order.

That’s when the car accelerated backward and pinned him against a tree. Wood suffered severe injuries to his head, neck, torso and legs and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Multiple outlets tried to reach out to the Jack in the Box but received no comment.
