Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his sexual assault accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week. Ford told the panel that Kavanaugh attempted to rape her at a high school party in the early 1980s. Kavanaugh issued an angry, tearful denial and claimed the accusations against him were an "orchestrated political hit" fueled by Trump's victory in the 2016 election. Republican Sen. Jeff Flake called for a one-week delay of Kavanaugh's confirmation vote to allow for an FBI investigation. Trump called Ford's testimony "compelling" and agreed to a new FBI probe.
Other major headlines of the week included Bill Cosby being sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison for sexual assault, the body believed to be that of missing 6-year-old boy Maddox Ritch being found and world leaders appearing to laugh at President Trump during his UN speech.
