Biden: Trump uses White House as a ‘literal bully pulpit’

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday slammed President Trump while addressing the crowd of LGBTQ activists and supporters at the Human Rights Campaign’s annual dinner event.

“Instead of using the full might of the executive branch to secure justice, dignity, safety for all, the president uses the White House as a literal, literal bully pulpit, callously exerting power over those who have little or none,” Biden said.

Last week, the Associated Press reported that Biden has indicated that he will make his final decision on a 2020 presidential run by January.

“Running against Biden is what President Trump fears most,” according to Axios.

The media outlet further notes, “Biden is one of the most popular figures among Democrats, but he could face resistance from the party’s increasingly vocal progressive wing.”

Biden has, over the years, certainly shored up a base of his own, and a number of them have been encouraging him to enter the upcoming presidential race.

For now, Biden is focused on November’s midterm elections. Politico reports that when asked what’s at stake in the fast-approaching races, he replied, “Everything. It’s simple: everything.”
