Report: Toddler partially paralyzed after falling on drinking glass, family hoping for miracle

A couple in Canada is hoping for a miracle after an accident reportedly left their 2-year-old daughter partially paralyzed on her left side.

According to Canadian news network, CTV, Jaclyn Derks was building a blanket fort while her grandparents were babysitting her last month. She fell onto a drinking glass that had been left on the floor, which reportedly broke under her weight and severed her spine.

The young girl is still unable to move her left leg, according to the family’s GoFundMe page.

The family says, "we are hopeful and are all praying for this little girl to be able to walk again. Jackie was always the life of any situation."

Donations for Jackie’s medical costs are pouring in. The family has raised over 14,000 dollars as of Tuesday afternoon. Doctors say this kind of accident is very rare with Jacyln being just one of two reported cases in the world, according to CTV.
