Mom accidentally locks baby in car, 911 operator reportedly says they can't do anything to help

A Michigan mother accidentally locked her 2 month old daughter in her car and she says the 911 operator told her to call a towing company.

Lacey Guyton told local station Fox 2 she closed her car door after putting her child in her carseat and accidentally locked the car with the keys still inside.

Her grandmother called 911 while she tried to break open a window, but the operator said there was nothing they can do.

The operator said they can’t unlock cars or break windows, and that’s when she said she could transfer Guton to a tow company to help.

Scared for her daughter's life while she sat in the car in the summer heat, Guyton broke the back window, rescuing her screaming daughter.

Chief Scott Underwood of the Waterford Police department apologized, saying someone should have been sent over to help. Underwood also said that the dispatcher will be disciplined.
