Trump: Stock market would 'crash' if I'm impeached

In the wake of the jury conviction of Paul Manafort and the guilty plea by Michael Cohen, there has been increasing chatter about the possibility of President Trump’s impeachment.

Addressing the topic in an interview with “Fox & Friends” anchor Ainsley Earhardt, Trump said, “If I ever got impeached, I think the (stock) market would crash.”

“I think everybody would be very poor because without this thinking, you would see numbers you wouldn’t believe in reverse,” Trump added while pointing to his head.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Wednesday also weighed in on the impeachment talk.

“The idea of an impeachment is, frankly, a sad attempt by Democrats. It’s the only message they seem to have going into the midterms,” Sanders told reporters at a briefing.

“And I think it’s another great reminder of why Americans should support other like-minded candidates, like the president, that are actually focused on continuing to grow the economy, continuing to secure our borders, continuing to focus on the safety and security of all Americans,” Sanders added.
