The immediate fallout following 11 children being rescued from a filthy compound in New Mexico captured headlines this week. Two men and three women are facing charges after the children, ages 1 to 15, were removed from the site that was surrounded by stacks of old tires, wooden pallets and debris. Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, the father of a missing Georgia boy, was training children at the compound to commit school shootings, according to prosecutors. The missing boy's grandfather said the child's remains were found buried at the site.

Other major headlines of the week included New York congressman Christopher Collins being indicted for insider trading, the Mendocino Complex fire becoming the largest wildfire in California's history and the 73rd anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima.
