Washington Redskins cornerback suffers freak injury before training camp

A Washington Redskins young cornerback has suffered a freak injury that will sideline him at the start of training camp, according to a report by the NFL Network.

Josh Holsey, a seventh-round draft pick in 2017 out of Auburn, will reportedly be missing the start of training camp because a table fell on his foot. That’s one way to get injured, I suppose.

NFL Network insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport first reported the news.

“A freak accident will sideline Redskins CB Josh Holsey for the start of training camp after a table fell on his foot, sources tell me and (Rapoport). Last year’s 7th rounder appeared in 12 games as a rookie and the team has high hopes for him moving forward,” they report.

That’s pretty brutal news for Holsey and the Redskins. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious and he’ll be back on the field at some point before the start of the 2018 season.

Holsey and Washington are set to open the 2018 season on Sept. 9 on the road. They’re set to take on the Cardinals in Arizona 4:25 p.m. E.T. The game will be televised on FOX.
