Report: Dez Bryant waiting for 'contender' to call

Free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant remains unsigned and reportedly is waiting for a team he considers a championship contender to call.

NFL Network reported Bryant is being choosy after declining a three-year offer from the Baltimore Ravens.

Released by the Dallas Cowboys in April, Bryant, 29, has not received great interest on the open market. Bryant's production declined in 2017, when he posted 69 receptions for 831 yards.

Depending on Bryant's definition of championship contender, he could be in for a significant wait while hoping for a landing spot.

The New England Patriots will not have Julian Edelman (suspension) until October but added Kenny Britt and Jordan Matthews, and they likely are planning to gauge those veterans before shopping for more help.

In Atlanta, the Falcons drafted wide receiver Calvin Ridley in the first round but could look for another receiver if Julio Jones holds out into the regular season.
