Le’Veon Bell’s tweet about the Todd Gurley contract is going viral

Le’Veon Bell didn’t get the big contract he was searching for this summer. The Pittsburgh Steelers’ star running back has since been franchise tagged. He’ll play the 2018 season on a one-year deal and then hit free agency in 2019.

Bell is a happy man today, though. One of his fellow star running backs is getting paid.

Los Angeles Rams star running back Todd Gurley has agreed to a massive four-year extension.

“Rams and RB Todd Gurley finalizing agreement on a 4-year extension worth $60 million that includes $45 million guaranteed that ties him to LA for the next six seasons, source tells ESPN. Finally a deal that resets the RB market,” ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted.

This is good news for Bell, who is set to hit the open market in 2019.

If Gurley is getting $15 million/year, it’s reasonable for Bell to ask for more. He knows this.

Le’Veon reacted to the Gurley news in appropriate fashion on Twitter.

Bell reportedly wants to be paid like a star playmaker and not just a running back. He’s arguably the best pass-catching running back in the league.

We’ll see if a team decides to pay him like on in 2019. For now, though, things are looking promising.
