Far-right 'Proud Boys' run out of LA bar by Democratic Socialists

Clashes over political views flaring up once again, this time at a bar in Los Angeles between the far-right Proud Boys and left-wing activists.

Video posted by the Democratic Socialists of America show the group shouting “No Proud Boys, no KKK, no Fascist USA.” The group also found support from anti-gentrification group Defend North East, Los Angeles. DSA celebrating running the Proud Boys out of the bar writes, “Don’t let Nazis convene in your city!”

The Proud Boys are a far-right organization founded by former founder of Vice Media, Gavin McInnes.

According to their website, the group calls itself a pro-Western fraternal organization for men who refuse to apologize for creating the modern world; aka Western Chauvinists. It also declares itself as anti-racist and “anti-racial guilt.”

But as the Hill points out, the Southern Poverty Law Center describes them as an extremist group because members regularly use white nationalist memes and associate themselves with other extremists.

The bar’s owners have since responded to the incident, saying while they don’t support the Proud Boys they tried to “kill them with kindness” to get them to leave.
