‘Do not eat this’: CDC warns about a popular cereal linked to salmonella

The CDC is warning people “Do not eat this cereal.”

About 100 people have been affected by a Salmonella outbreak linked to the popular Kelloggs Cereal Honey Smacks. The CDC reported that the outbreak has now impacted people in over 33 states.

Kelloggs voluntarily began recalling the cereal in June. The CDC now advises that anyone who has purchased the cereal return it for a refund or throw it out completely regardless of an expiration date.

Salmonella symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps within about 12 to 72 hours of exposure.

Right now there are no other Kellogg products impacted by the recall.
