American tourist in Mexico City killed by bullet intended for someone else 

An American tourist in Mexico City celebrating her first wedding anniversary was shot and killed by a bullet reportedly intended for someone else, reports CNN

Tatiana Mirutenko, a 27-year-old who lived in San Francisco, her husband, and two friends were at a restaurant in the city’s Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood at the time. 

According to ABC News, local authorities say “she was struck when two men on a motorcycle fired at a man on the sidewalk.”

The apparent target of the shooting was hit as well and is said to have survived, notes the Associated Press

Authorities are still searching for the suspects. Surveillance footage indicates they immediately fled the city. 

Mirutenko’s friends, family, and co-workers describe her as a wonderful person who had a positive outlook and great enthusiasm.
