Updated

All 12 members of a missing soccer team and their coach were found alive this week after the group became trapped by floodwaters in a cave in Thailand. The group was given swimming and diving lessons as rescue crews tried to determine the best way to extract them from the massive cave. A former Thai navy diver died as he worked underwater in the cave complex to lay oxygen tanks along a potential exit route.

Other major headlines of the week included EPA chief Scott Pruitt resigning, two Britons being poisoned by Novichok nerve agent and two deadly explosions at fireworks workshops outside of Mexico City.

Click through the slideshow above to see photos from all of these events and more, and be sure to check back next weekend for our selection of the best photography from the week.
