World Series odds: Halfway through season, American League powerhouses still hold the cards

Halfway through the 2018 baseball season, not a whole lot has changed.

This year's trifecta of American League powerhouses -- the Houston Astros, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox -- still have the best odds of winning the World Series.

According to Vegas Insider, Houston and New York are tied with just slightly better odds than the Red Sox after roughly three months of play.

The Chicago Cubs are the National League squad with the best chances to win the Fall Classic, coming in just behind Boston.

Six teams -- the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, Miami Marlins and Cincinnati Reds -- were not given odds by Vegas Insider. Each of those franchises currently has a winning percentage below .500 and are at the bottoms of their respective divisions.
