A woman broke into Danny Duffy's house because she thought Elon Musk was there
A truly bizarre event happened at the home of Kansas City Royals pitcher Danny Duffy over the weekend. A woman broke into his home, put on his clothes, and when she was caught by police, she told them that she was trying to find her fiancé Elon Musk, founder of the Tesla car company.
Fox4 in Kansas City has the details of the break-in. At 1:21 am on Saturday, Duffy was alerted by his remote doorbell app that a woman had entered his home. Duffy called the police, and when they arrived they found her wearing one of Duffy’s shirts and a pair of his pants.
Police identified her as Tabytha Yeary, and she was immediately arrested once they arrived at Duffy’s home. Here’s what Yeary told police, via Fox4.
She told detectives that she had been walking around Kansas City all night playing a game with her fiancé, Elon Musk, the founder of the Tesla car company. She added that the Elon Musk she was engaged to is not the same Elon Musk the public has seen because he uses another person as his public face.
Yeary is essentially saying that her fiancé is the real Elon Musk, and that the person we know as Elon Musk is someone Musk hired to play him in public. The game Yeary said they were playing involved her following messages from him all around Kansas City, and she went into Duffy’s house because one of the messages led her there. She said the door was open when she arrived, and she thought it was the AirBnB her fiancé was staying in.
Duffy and the Royals were in Houston playing the Houston Astros when the break-in occurred, so thankfully no one was home.
Yeary was charged with second-degree burglary and bond was set at $2,500. Her next court appearance in connection to the crime is July 12, but in the meantime she paid her bond and has been released.
