Trump says media coverage of North Korea summit is 'almost treasonous'

President Trump went after the media coverage of his historic summit with Kim Jong Un during an interview with former rival Mike Huckabee.

“First of all, we came to a wonderful agreement, it’s a shame the fake news covers it the way they do. It’s almost treasonous, you want to know the truth.”

Trump highlighted the fact that the rogue nation returned American hostages before the summit, as well as agreed to return the remains of U.S. soldiers killed in the Korean War.

“We got back our great fallen heroes the remains, in fact today, already 200 have been sent back.”

He also touted the North’s commitment to denuclearize.

“If you listen to the mainstream media, it’s almost like I lost a negotiation.”

Trump recently went after 'fake news' on Twitter, writing, “Funny how the Fake News, in a coordinated effort with each other, likes to say I gave soooo much to North Korea because I “met.”

This comes as Kim Jong Un just ended a visit to China’s President Xi Jinping.

Bill Richardson, the former energy secretary, ambassador and US envoy to North Korea told CNN quote, “I think China is sending a message to Trump: You want to put trade tariffs on us and have our cooperation with North Korea? You can’t have both.”
