3-year-old girl dies in hot car after trip to church in Indiana

Police continue to investigate the death of a three-year-old Indiana girl who they say was left in a hot car while her parents thought she was asleep inside their home.

Hannah Grace Miller had a high body core temperature when she was pronounced dead on Sunday, according to Madison County Coroner Marian Dunnichay.

According to a WTHR-TV report, the young girl's parents went to church, had breakfast, bought groceries and returned home to bring the groceries inside.

They had thought their daughter went inside with her two brothers and that all three went to sleep. The boys then apparently woke two hours later to find their sister was missing.

Miller’s father -- who found her in the car -- then submerged her in water and performed CPR, according to The Herald Bulletin.

No criminal charges have been filed.
