Uber driver fatally shoots passenger in Denver

An Uber driver fatally shot a passenger early Friday in Denver.

The passenger was shot multiple times and the driver was taken to a nearby hospital, Denver 7 reported.

The shooting took place on Interstate 25, a few blocks north of the University of Denver’s campus, the Denver Police Department said in a tweet. Cops could not be immediately reached for further comment.

An exit ramp near where the shooting took place was shut down as cops investigate.

The silver sedan was going over a bridge at the time of the shooting, according to KDVR. The car went off the roadway and collided with a wall on the ramp, according to the station.

The highway will remain shut down through the morning rush hour.
