Mueller's Russia probe has cost the US billions

Updated

A new financial report from the Justice Department shows the investigation into Trump's possible campaign collusion with Russia has cost $17 million so far.

Between October of 2017 and March of 2018, it cost $10 million, in addition to the $6.7 million spent on the probe in the 4 months before that.

The DOJ said a large portion of the bill would have been spent anyways, regardless of whether or not Mueller was appointed.

Trump, along with top people in his White House, have called for the probe to be wrapped up, especially as things start to gear up for the 2018 midterm elections with Republicans hoping to keep control of both the House and Senate.

“We’ve done nothing wrong. There was no collusion with the Russians, there was nothing. There was no obstruction.”

The President tweeted, “A.P. has just reported that the Russian Hoax Investigation has now cost our government over $17 million, and going up fast. No Collusion, except by the Democrats!”
