A mass shooting unfolded at a high school in Texas Friday, leaving 10 people dead in yet another gun-related tragedy on a school campus.
The episode marked the eighth shooting in which someone was killed on an elementary, middle or high school campus in 2018.
As of May 18, 36 people have been killed in these shootings.

May 18: Santa Fe, Texas
Nine students and one teacher died when student gunman Dimitrios Pagourtzis went on a shooting spree at Santa Fe High School.
March 20: Lexington Park, Maryland
A student at Great Mills High School shot two people before he was taken down by a school resource officer. The gunman died, and 16-year-old victim Jaelynn Willey was taken off life support two days later.
March 7: Birmingham, Alabama
A 17-year-old student was killed after a 17-year-old boy with a handgun accidentally fired a round at Huffman High School.
February 20: Massillon, Ohio
A seventh-grader died after he shot himself in a bathroom at Jackson Middle School.
February 14: Parkland, Florida
Seventeen people were killed when former student Nikolas Cruz entered Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School with an AR-15 and opened fire in the school’s halls.
January 31: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
A 32-year-old man died in a gun fight in the parking lot of Lincoln High School.
January 23: Benton, Kentucky
A 15-year old student shot 16 people including two other 15-year-olds, who died at Marshall County High School.
January 10: Sierra Vista, Arizona
A teen was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a Coronado Elementary School bathroom.
