Suspended Pa. teacher shot multiple times outside her mom's home

A suspended Pennsylvania teacher was fatally shot outside her mother’s home after coming back from an ice cream shop Sunday, authorities said.

Rachael DelTondo, 32, was shot multiple times in her upper body on her mother’s driveway in Beaver County, authorities said.

She died at the scene. A neighbor told KDKA-TV he heard about six gunshots.

The Beaver County coroner’s office ruled her death a homicide. A motive for the slaying is unknown as police continue its search for a suspect.

In November, DelTondo was suspended from Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School after it was revealed in a 2016 police report that she was found in a car with a 17-year-old male student. He went to a different school.

Aliquippa police leaked DelTondo's confidential information about her and the student, KDKA reported.

DelTondo was engaged at the time and no charges were filed. The wedding was later called off.

The school released a statement saying it was saddened by DelTondo’s tragic death.
