Sam Darnold’s tie color could give away where he thinks he’s being drafted

The NFL Draft starts on Thursday night, and by now, most of the top prospects who will be attending the event have picked out their outfits. One player’s getup is being talked about more than others, to say the least.

Former USC quarterback Sam Darnold, who is in the mix to be the No. 1 overall pick, is apparently going to be wearing a brown tie to the draft. Considering the Cleveland Browns have the first choice, it’s an interesting decision.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news on ESPN Wednesday morning. But there’s actually video – over at the NFL Network – that shows Darnold picking out his suit. He does have a brown tie – as you can see above.

Oddly enough, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com writes Wednesday that the Browns could actually be down to two other quarterbacks – Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield.

At this point, there are five players thought to be in-play for the No. 1 overall picks. Allen, Mayfield, Darnold and former UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen are believed to be in the mix. There’s also former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley, who is probably the biggest physical freak in the draft. The Browns have the No. 1 pick and the No. 4 pick this year – so they conceivably could walk away with two of these players.

The NFL Draft starts Thursday night. It should be more interesting than in years past.
