Trump tweets he'll watch Barbara Bush's funeral service from 'Southern White House'

President Trump on Saturday tweeted that he’ll be watching Barbara Bush’s funeral service from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

“Heading to the Southern White House to watch the Funeral Service of Barbara Bush. First Lady Melania has arrived in Houston to pay our respects. Will be a beautiful day!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

And minutes prior, in another tweet, Trump stated, “Today, my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bush family. In memory of First Lady Barbara Bush, there is a remembrance display located at her portrait in the Center Hall of the @WhiteHouse.”

The White House issued a statement on Thursday announcing that Trump won’t attend Barbara Bush’s funeral.

“First Lady Melania Trump will attend the memorial service for Barbara Bush this Saturday on behalf of the First Family. To avoid disruptions due to added security, and out of respect for the Bush Family and friends attending the service, President Trump will not attend,” the statement read.

The service for Barbara Bush is being held at Houston’s St. Martin’s Church. The former first lady, 92, passed away on Tuesday with her husband, George H. W. Bush, at her side, according to ABCNews.
