Bush family welcomes baby days after Barbara Bush's death

The Bush family welcomed a new baby boy two days after the passing of their matriarch, former First Lady Barbara Bush.

The child is the grandson of Barbara and George H.W. Bush's son Neil, who posted a picture of the baby alongside a snap of his mother on his Facebook page Friday morning.

"Maria (Neil Bush's wife) and I were so blessed to spend lots of time with mom and dad during mom's last weeks," Bush captioned the pictures. "And then two days later, yesterday morning… Lauren Bush Lauren gave birth to a beautiful 7 lb 8 oz baby boy Max Walker Lauren. The circle of life. God is good."

Bush's daughter Lauren is married to fashion designer Ralph Lauren's son David, the vice chairman and chief innovation officer of Ralph Lauren Corp. The couple has another boy, their 2-year-old son James.

Barbara Bush had been battling congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and decided to refuse further treatment in the days leading up to her death. She was 92.

A public viewing for the former First Lady was held Friday in Houston.
