I support D.A. Larry Krasner’s position in the case of Robert Williams (Meek Mill). Our criminal justice system is in need of repair. That’s why my admin has made efforts to invest in programs that divert individuals from the system, improve public safety, and promote fairness. https://t.co/f8s3JjGOuP
It has also garnered attention from the entertainment industry and several athletes like 76ers players Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz and Joel Embiid, who have visited him in prison.
Meek Mill now has an ally in one of the most powerful men in sports with New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft joining 76ers minority owner Michael Rubin to visit him in prison on Tuesday.

Praying for my brother @meekmill right now. God sometimes puts the toughest battles on his strongest soldiers. I'm here for you man!!!! My brother for life...Always here for you man!!! This storm will pass...Stay strong & keep your head up 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The sentence handed down by the Judge -- against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer -- is unjust and heavy handed. We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career.

Kraft spoke about his visit with Meek Mill — which apparently wasn’t his first — and a relationship that he has built with the rapper through Rubin.
“He’s an amazing young man,” Kraft said of Meek Mill. “I know how I’d feel if were in the situation he is. He’s very intelligent. … We have to do something with criminal justice reform.”
“It’s just wrong. We have to find a way to correct it and also help the community. … This guy is a great guy and shouldn’t be here.”
Rubin has been an avid supporter of Meek Mill’s plight. Bringing an influential billionaire like Kraft into the mix seems likely to increase the pressure on his release and reform.
