Former MLB All-Star Milton Bradley charged with spousal battery again
Former Texas Rangers All-Star Milton Brady has been charged with spousal battery. Bradley was charged after allegedly grabbing his wife by the neck and throwing her on their couch.
The altercation between Bradley and his second wife, Rachel, took place in late January, according to Sports Illustrated.
On Jan. 28, 2018, court and police documents allege that Milton and Rachel Bradley, who have been married two-and-a-half years, went out to dinner to celebrate Rachel’s birthday. A female friend of Rachel’s accompanied them.
The two got into a verbal argument while riding home in an Uber that night. The physical assault occurred once they got home, Rachel Bradley told police.
Two witnesses saw Milton and Rachel engaged in a verbal altercation. Both witnesses told police Rachel told them about the physical assault, though neither witness saw it take place. Rachel Bradley later changed her story, telling police she made up the assault to get her husband in trouble.
It’s not the first time Bradley has been involved in a domestic situation. Sports Illustrated detailed multiple accounts against Bradley involving his first wife, Monique, in 2015. He was convicted on nine counts and spent 32 months in jail. Bradley denied all the charges. Shortly after his trial, Monique died. She was 33.
SI notes that Bradley was still on probation for his conviction against Monique when the altercation with Rachel occurred. He’s expected to appear before a judge Monday to determine whether he violated his probation that night.
