Man claiming to be Floyd Mayweather’s bodyguard shot in Atlanta

A man who claimed he was Floyd Mayweather’s bodyguard was shot moments after he pulled up to a swanky Atlanta hotel, according to reports.

A car pulled along three vehicles, one of which may have been carrying Mayweather, as they returned to the Buckhead hotel from a club at about 3 a.m. Monday and opened fire, according to local reports.

“At this time, it appears that this was not a random shooting and the shooter was targeting the victim’s vehicle,” police spokesman Donald Hannah told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“We believe that Mr. Mayweather may have been in one of the other vehicles in the caravan and was not injured,” he added.

One of the shots hit the bodyguard in the leg, local news channel WSB-TV reported, and he’s expected to survive.

The motorcade pulled away after shot broke out, and were briefly followed by the car attacking them, Atlanta cops said.

Once they lost the car, the wounded bodyguard brought himself to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Mayweather’s spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
