ICE detainee who escaped JFK Airport caught in Chicago

Authorities have captured the ICE detainee who managed to escape from Kennedy Airport while waiting to board a flight to be deported to Senegal, the Daily News has learned.

Mohamadou Mbacke was arrested in Chicago, according to a law enforcement source.

Details on Mbacke's arrest — like how he got from Queens to Chicago — were not immediately clear.

Mbacke and three deportation officers were waiting for the flight when the escape happened.

"While in the gate area, the defendant asked for and received permission to sit approximately eight to ten rows away from the deportation officers,” the freshly unsealed complaint in Brooklyn Federal Court reads. “Shortly thereafter, without authorization from the deportation officers, the defendant departed the gate area."

Mbacke is slated to make his first court appearance in Chicago Federal Court before his eventual return to Brooklyn, where he'll face prosecution for the attempted escape.
