Trump adds 'Crazy Joe Biden' to a laundry list of political nicknames

Updated

President Donald Trump referred to former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden as "Crazy Joe Biden" on Thursday morning, continuing his habit of creating nicknames for the people he criticizes via social media.

"Crazy Joe Biden is trying to act like a tough guy. Actually, he is weak, both mentally and physically, and yet he threatens me, for the second time, with physical assault," Trump said via Twitter. "He doesn’t know me, but he would go down fast and hard, crying all the way. Don’t threaten people Joe!"

The tweet came after Biden said he would have "beat the hell" out of Trump if they went to school together during a Wednesday appearance at an anti-sexual assault rally at the University of Miami.

The art of crafting nicknames for political and personal opponents alike is far from a new addition to Trump's online rhetoric. Although Cambridge Analytica has bragged that they actually came up "Crooked Hillary" — a term that is arguably Trump's favorite nickname — others like "Little Marco," for Marco Rubio, and "Lyin' Ted," for Ted Cruz, are likely the product of his own creativity.
