Here’s how many perfect brackets are left after day 1 of the 2018 NCAA Tournament

Did you have Buffalo knocking out Arizona in the first round of this year’s NCAA Tournament? Probably not.

Some people, however, did foresee the Wildcats failing to win a game. Some people also picked the other 15 games of day one correctly.

According to ESPN, there are just 6,306 perfect brackets left in its annual Bracket Challenge game. There were 17.3 million brackets filled out this year.

As a reminder, no one has ever filled out a perfect bracket – at least, it hasn’t been proven. The odds are something like 1-in-9.2 quintillion, so it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

In Warren Buffet’s pool for Berkshire Hathaway employees, only 13 people still have perfect brackets. The person who goes longest without dropping a game gets $100,000.

At this point, it’s unlikely that any of the 6,306 people make it out of the second day unscathed. Going 32-for-32 actually gets you more than halfway through the tournament.
