Broncos reportedly trade QB Trevor Siemian to Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are closing in on a deal to acquire quarterback Trevor Siemian from the Denver Broncos, NFL Network reported on Wednesday.

The Broncos will receive an undisclosed 2019 draft choice from Minnesota. Denver will send a 2018 late-round pick along with Siemian.

The trade gives Minnesota a backup quarterback behind Kirk Cousins, who is expected to sign a three-year, $84 million deal with the Vikings.

Earlier Wednesday, Denver signed former Vikings starter Case Keenum to a two-year, $36 million deal.

Siemian started 24 games for the Broncos over the past two seasons and passed for 5,686 yards and 30 touchdowns against 24 interceptions.

Last season, Siemian passed for 2,285 yards, 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in a drop from his 2016 performance of 3,401 yards, 18 touchdowns and just 10 picks.

The 26-year-old Siemian is scheduled to earn $1.907 million this season in the final season of his four-year contract.
