‘Morning Joe': Trump’s North Korea announcement ‘painfully obvious’ ploy to distract from Stormy Daniels

The set of “Morning Joe” was not impressed with Donald Trump’s audacious gambit to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un later this year.

On set Friday, co-host Joe Scarborough said the whole thing was obviously just motivated by Trump’s desire to knock Stormy Daniels off the front page of the Washington Post.

“He just makes a decision on tariffs because of Hope Hicks and he makes a decision on North Korea because of Stormy Daniels.” said Scarborough. “People can deny that all they want, but if you’re doing that you’re in the tank for Donald Trump because it’s painfully obvious that that’s exactly what’s going on.”

“He did not want the Washington Post to have the word Stormy Daniels on the front page today. Guess what. He succeeded,” he added.

On Thursday evening President Trump stunned the world, with the White House announcing that he would be prepared to sit down with Kim Jong-un in a matter of months.

“He will accept the invitation to meet with Kim Jong Un at a place and time to be determined,” White House Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a widely reported statement. “We look forward to the denuclearization of North Korea. In the meantime, all sanctions and maximum pressure must remain.”

The news definitely did knock — for now — a growing scandal surrounding Trump and an alleged affair between him and adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

It is known that Trump attorney Michael Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 for reasons that still remain unclear, but has been widely reported as hush money. A new lawsuit by Daniels now asserts that a non-disclosure agreement she signed is null and void because it does not bear Trump’s signature. The suit also intriguingly speaks of “certain still images and/or text messages which were authored by or related to” Trump, referred to in the suit as DD.
