Kellyanne Conway says she’s not interested in being the White House communications director

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Thursday confirmed speculation that the reason she’s not the White House communications director is because she’s simply not interested.

“I’ve been offered that job many times and no, I work on policy here at the White House,” she said on ‘Fox & Friends.’

Conway also had kind words about Hope Hicks, who announced on Wednesday that she would be resigning from the communications director position in the next few weeks.

“[Hicks] was the fourth person to hold the position of communications director over 13 months,” notes the New York Daily News.

With the post now open, there have been a number of suggestions about who will be selected to serve next.

Mercedes Schlapp, who is the current White House director of strategic communications, is considered by some to be the obvious choice, notes the Washington Post.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is also a contender. Other suggestions include former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and conservative commentator Jason Miller.
