Trump boasts about Ivanka says no one 'better or smarter' to represent US at Winter Olympics

President Trump on Friday tweeted about his daughter’s visit to South Korea for the closing ceremony of Winter Olympics.

“My daughter, Ivanka, just arrived in South Korea. We cannot have a better, or smarter, person representing our country,” Trump noted.

Numerous critical reactions followed, and many social media users brought up nepotism in their comments.

“It’s natural for a father to believe that, and that’s why presidents don’t usually give their children roles like that,” said one Twitter user.

“These limitations you are putting our country through due to your nepotism are harmful to the country,” someone else tweeted.

“Don’t remember seeing her name on the ballot,” wrote another tweeter.

Ivanka Trump, who serves as a White House senior adviser, joined the U.S. athletes in South Korea on Friday.

The New York Times reports, citing White House officials, she “would be cheering on American athletes and helping to cement Washington’s alliance with South Korea. She does not intend to meet with a North Korean delegation that will attend the ceremony.”
