President Trump reportedly polled Mar-a-Lago clubhouse on gun control

As hundreds in Florida gathered, calling for increased gun control, the president reportedly took a temperature of the room at his Mar-a-Lago clubhouse, asking if Republicans should reconsider their position on gun control and whether he should take an active stance on gun control laws.

The Washington Post revealed that President Trump told clubgoers he’s been closely watching media appearances of the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, which left 17 people dead.

Student survivors called on Trump and Congress to take action, one of them saying, “The adults have let us down. The people who should be working for us, they have us working for them.”

Those students announced they plan to march on Washington on March 24th. Trump reportedly questioning whether he should, in fact, be championing gun control despite enjoying the support of the NRA.

The White House announced it will host a listening session with students to talk about gun safety. Trump also met with Paul Ryan, discussing among many things, including the tragic shooting.
