Police: Atlanta man dies after dispute with UberEATS driver

A food delivery ended in a terrible tragedy after a man in Atlanta was allegedly shot dead by an UberEATS driver.

Investigators are still searching for the driver who police say opened fire and killed the victim identified as 30-year-old Ryan Thornton in an Atlanta suburb.

According to local media, Thornton placed a food delivery order via UberEats on Saturday and went outside his apartment complex to pick it up. Witnesses claim Thornton and the driver exchanged words and someone inside a white Volkswagen opened fire before it left the complex.

The victim was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where he later died.

UberEats said in a statement. "We are shocked and saddened by this news. We are working with Atlanta Police, and our hearts go out to the families of those involved."
