Nikolas Cruz barely looks up as shooting suspect appears in court

He couldn’t even lift his face.

Florida gunman Nikolas Cruz sat motionless with his face lowered during a Monday appearance in a Ft. Lauderdale court.

Cruz, 19, barely moved his mouth as he spoke only to his public defender at Broward County district court.

The shooting suspect faces 17 counts of premeditated murder for the shooting last Wednesday at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

Cruz, wearing a red prison jumpsuit, sat with his wrists chained to his waist as his lawyer successfully sought to have documents related to the case unsealed.

Judge Elizabeth Scherer granted the motion, which she said allowed Cruz’s lawyers to have access to him while the suspect is in custody.

But the cameras focused on Cruz, who was seen in public for the second time since last week’s carnage.

Cruz brought an AR-15 to the school as classes were about to wrap up Wednesday, and was later picked up by local police.

He purchased 10 rifles within roughly the last year, law enforcement officials told CNN.

Cruz was ordered held without bond during his first court appearance Thursday.
