LeBron James responds to Ingraham's 'shut up and dribble' remark

NBA star LeBron James has responded to Fox News host Laura Ingraham’s “shut up and dribble comment.”

Indicating he will not back down, James succinctly tweeted on Friday, “#wewillnotshutupanddribble.”

The controversy started after James and fellow NBA player Kevin Durant made critical remarks about President Trump in an online video

“The number one job in America…is someone who doesn’t understand the people, and really don’t give a f—- about the people,” James said in the wide-ranging video.

Ingraham addressed James’ criticism of Trump on her show, stating that James and Durant should stay away from politics.

“You’re great players, but no one voted for you…So keep the political commentary to yourself or, as someone once said, shut up and dribble,” Ingraham said.

Durant told USA Today Sports that to him, Ingraham’s comment was “racist.”

Ingraham later issued a statement, noting in part, “There was no racial intent in my remarks.”
