Reports: Trump blames handling of Porter abuse scandal on Hope Hicks

President Donald Trump is aiming his frustration about the Rob Porter scandal at White House Communications Director, Hope Hicks.

CNN is reporting Trump has said Hicks put her own priorities ahead of his and believes Hicks’ romantic relationship with Porter has clouded her judgment.

Trump also wasn’t reportedly consulted when Hicks and other aides drafted a White House statement defending Porter, According to CNN.

Rob Porter resigned from his role as White House Staff Secretary following allegations of physical and emotional abuse from two of his ex-wives.

Porter maintains that he is innocent, though sources say White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, who hired Porter, was aware of the allegations before they were made public, but did not investigate them.
