A massive 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck near the popular Taiwanese tourist city of Hualien this week. At least 10 people were killed and rescue dogs were brought in to search for survivors. The force of the quake caused buildings to collapse, streets to buckle and a residential complex to tilt at a precarious angle.

Other major headlines of the week included White House aide Rob Porter resigning amid allegations he abused two former wives, Wall Street experiencing huge swings in a volatile trading week and the launching of Elon Musk's SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.
