People are falling for a fake tweet alleged to be from President Donald Trump that claims he said a sitting president should be "loaded" into a cannon and shot into the sun if the "Dow Joans" falls more than 1,000 points in a day.

"There's always a tweet," wrote Twitter user Shaun Usher on Monday afternoon just after the Dow Jones fell more than 1,100 points on Monday. It was the largest point drop in history.

"If the Dow Joans ever falls more than 1000 'points' in a Single Day the sitting president should be 'loaded' into a very big cannon and Shot into the sun at TREMENDOUS SPEED! No excuses!" Usher claimed Trump once wrote, posting a screenshot of the fake tweet.

The tweet was retweeted more than 4,300 times within an hour. Twitter users often dig through Trump's old tweets to find statements he has made in the past that contradict his current stances.

Usher soon admitted the tweet was a fraud, but did not delete.

Some Twitter users were completely fooled.
